Analytics storage starts denied on every page. It switches on only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie and logged with a hashed address.
What it does
Before you choose, every page tells the analytics tool that storage is denied. Only if you accept analytics does it switch on. Strictly necessary cookies are separate and are not blocked.
Your choice is kept in a cookie for 12 months and logged as proof, with a hashed address and never the raw one. A change to the cookie policy asks everyone again.
Why
Consent that is assumed is not consent. Starting from denied means a visitor who ignores the banner is not tracked.
What it won't do
- It doesn't load analytics storage before you accept.
- It doesn't record your raw IP address in the consent log.
- It doesn't hide which cookies exist: the banner lists them from one registry.
How to use it
Open the Platform guide in your dashboard, or start a trial to try it.
