The first time Radar sees a page it records it and says nothing. Later it reports a page only if the first part of its readable text differs from the last visit, and names the page.
What it does
Radar keeps a fingerprint of the first part of the readable text of each watched page. The first visit only stores it. On a later visit, if the text is the same, there is nothing to report. If it differs, Radar reports one item that names the page.
A change far down a long page is not seen.
Why
A change alert that fires on every first look, or on a page that did not move, trains you to ignore alerts.
What it won't do
- It doesn't report a page on the first visit.
- It doesn't report a page whose text is the same as last time.
- It doesn't see changes beyond the first part of a long page.
How to use it
Open the Radar guide in your dashboard, or start a trial to try it.
