Voice

Words on your Never use these list are removed from drafts.

After a full draft is written, Voice removes each word on your Never use these list, or swaps it for the word you chose. The same pass restores your brand names to the spelling you set.

What it does

Under Your Voice, each language has a Never use these list. After a full draft is written, Voice removes every word on it, or replaces it with the word you put after the arrow. Matching ignores case and works on whole words.

The same pass restores your brand terms to the exact spelling you set, and enforces the strict punctuation choices you made: emoji, dashes, exclamation marks and hashtags.

Why

Asking a writer to avoid a word is a request. Removing it afterwards is a check that does not depend on the writer.

What it won't do

  • It doesn't touch a web address or code, even when a banned word sits inside one.
  • It doesn't apply a rule from one language to another. A Swedish rule never changes an English draft.
  • It doesn't cut part of a longer word. Only the whole word is matched.
  • It doesn't re-check the short opening-line suggestions from Other hooks. Only full drafts get this pass.

Quotes of four or more words are matched to the source pages. One it can't find becomes a fact to verify, with the reason stated.

Voice / Reach

Voice marks a missing figure as a fact to verify instead of guessing.

Where Voice has no figure for a claim, it writes a marked placeholder that says what is missing. The draft lists each open one, and the marker stays until you replace it.

Voice settles the headline before it writes a long article.

For a blog article, LinkedIn article, newsletter or how-to guide, you pick a headline first. Voice plans the sections to keep what it promises. Headlines are free, and a number you didn't supply is dropped.
