The Write as dialog shows "OK to invent a quote" when you pick Press release, unticked. Without the tick, Voice tells the writer to quote no one you did not name, and any quote it adds is checked.
What it does
A press release usually carries a quote from someone at the company. Voice does not make one up for you by default.
When you pick Press release in the Write as dialog, a box appears: OK to invent a quote. It starts unticked and applies to that one draft only. Without the tick, Voice tells the writer to quote no one you did not name. With it, the draft may carry an invented quote. The quote check lists it under Facts to verify as invented at your request, and Reach will not post the draft until you have settled it.
Why
A quote puts words in a real person's mouth. That should be your decision, made each time, and visible in the draft.
What it won't do
- It doesn't remember the tick for the next press release.
- It doesn't post a draft to Reach while an invented quote waits under Facts to verify.
How to use it
