When you mark a copy-and-paste post as published, the live link is checked: X, LinkedIn, Reddit and Hacker News links must be on their own site. A link on the wrong site is refused and nothing is saved.
What it does
Mark as published asks for Link to the live post. You can leave it empty. With a link, the Archive row can open your post.
X takes only an X or Twitter address, LinkedIn Articles only a LinkedIn address, Reddit and Hacker News their own. Substack, your blog and technical documents take any web address, because they can live on your own domain.
Why
A wrong link in the Archive points at nothing. Catching it when you save is cheaper than finding it later.
What it won't do
- It doesn't save a link on the wrong site.
- It doesn't require a link. Empty is allowed.
- It doesn't replace a link once one is saved.
How to use it
Open the Reach guide in your dashboard, or start a trial to try it.
